| | | April 21, 2006 | | Celebrate Earth Day by watching Laurie David’s global warming movie | As many of you know, tomorrow – April 22 – is Earth Day. No matter how you plan on celebrating the occasion, be sure to catch the 7 pm HBO documentary about global warming, “Too Hot Not to Handle”. Laurie David, founder of StopGlobalWarming.org, produced the film that features interviews with many of the leading scientists studying the causes and consequences of global warming.
In addition, the film outlines how the average person can make a significant contribution to stop global warming from becoming a global catastrophe. For example, cities like Portland, Oregon have encouraged business to adopt more environmentally efficient practices that also make economic sense as well. People can save $300-$400 a year on gas by driving cars with higher fuel efficiency, the same amount of money as Bush’s tax cut. I'm looking forward to eating some popcorn.
Happy Earth Day. by Erin Swanson ESwanson@enviance.com | | |
