| | | April 26, 2006 | | Great interview with Richard Sandor, CEO of Chicago Climate Exchange on the benefits of greenhouse gas compliance management | Chicago Climate Exchange’s (CCX) CEO Richard Sandor was recently on CNBC helping to promote the importance of greenhouse gas compliance to U.S. corporate businesses. Mr. Sandor listed some reasons why big companies such as DuPont and American Electric Power volunteer to decrease their greenhouse gas emissions: - Provides a competitive advantage
- Protects shareholder value
- Prepares for a carbon constrained world as the Kyoto Protocol becomes more important in the U.S.
- Environmental coalition organizations like CERES and compliance laws like Sarbanes Oxley are requiring a more transparent environment
When asked if the federal government should regulate corporations' emissions, Mr. Sandor was quick to reply that the Chicago Climate Exchange was not a policy tool and had no political view point. He only wants to “position American companies as the unambiguous leaders in reducing emissions.” Sounds like a great deal. Sign up today. by Erin Swanson ESwanson@enviance.com | | |
