Waste Management Featured on Project Runway

Project Runway features waste management and recycled goods for clothes

One of my favorite TV shows is Project Runway, featured on Bravo on Wednesday nights.  It's won numerous awards for its insight into the fashion industry and creative process that goes into making clothes.  If I had seen this show as a child, I definitely would have been more interested in sewing.

Last night’s episode was of particular interest to me as the contestants were taken to a Waste Management recycling plant in Newark, NJ and given 30 minutes to pilfer the re-cycled goods as materials for their next garment creation.  I thought it was a very imaginative way for Waste Management to promote their company as well as bring a higher awareness to recycling.  Kudos.  Oh, and the clothes made from newspapers, peanut bags, and plastic were amazing!
