PG&E CEO Peter Darbee Supports California Cap on Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Breaking away from the rest of California industries, PG&E supports recent legislation on a 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2020

MSNBC recently featured Pacific Gas and Electric’s (PG&E) CEO Peter Darbee.  Mr. Darbee lends support to the recent proposal of California cutting their global warming emissions by 25% by 2020.  PG&E has split from the rest of California’s industries by supporting this landmark bill now known as the "Global Warming Solutions Act" by acknowledging “global warming is occurring and the time to take action is now”.

As the first, and maybe only utility to support the act, Mr. Darbee said, “The issue of climate change is important and needs to be dealt with.  We need a pragmatic and practical result. Since the bill has a market-based program, it will work efficiently and effectively for businesses.”

GREAT stuff.
