Corporate Push Continues for Action against Global Warming

100 companies sign statement urging global warming strategy by 2012

Worldwide corporations such as General Electric, Volvo and Air France-KLM called for action against global warming at a meeting held at Columbia University this week. The companies are members of the Global Roundtable on Climate Change, formed in 2004 to explore issues critical to shaping public and industry policy on climate change.

The business leaders hope that a permanent plan can be in place by 2012.
