Vanity Fair just came out with their second green issue this month; chock full of informative environmental news affecting our planet.
What I love most about the cover is the too-cute-for-words polar bear, Knut. He's captured our hearts around the globe -- check out the video of him during the Annie Leibovitz photo shoot: Knut Video. Inside the issue, VF profiles Leonardo DiCaprio, who says: “It’s clear humans have had a devastating impact on our planet’s ecological web of life. Because we’ve waited, because we’ve turned our backs on nature’s warning signs, and because our political and corporate leaders have consistently ignored the overwhelming scientific evidence, the challenges we face are that much more difficult. We are in the environmental age whether we like it or not.” The magazine also features a photo portfolio of 88 environmental crusaders -- including a two-page spread with 35 young people working on climate issues at the high-school and college level -- and a 2007 Green Guide that includes tips for your daily routine. Table of Contents for the 2007 Green Issue: - Rush to Judgment
- The Sundance Man
- The Hour Is Near
- Texas Chainsaw Management
- Jungle Law
- On Borrowed Land
One of my favorite quotes from the green issue cites a Native American proverb: "We did not inherit the land from our fathers. We are borrowing it from our children." by Erin Swanson ESwanson@enviance.com |
