EPA Releases Updated Fuel Economy Listings For 2008 Autos

Late last week, the EPA released its findings for fuel economy on new 2008 models, using a new method of testing.

The EPA started using new test methods this year, with a goal of finding more accurate fuel economy numbers.

The new testing methods "are designed to better account for actual driving conditions that can lower fuel economy, such as higher speed driving, use of air conditioning, and cold weather operation. Because of the new methods, fuel economy estimates for all vehicles will generally be lower than those of last year."

Now consumers will have a better idea of the fuel economy for automobiles that they are considering for purchase.  Here are the highlights and lowlights on the fuel economy list for 2008 models:
