| November 28, 2005 | | A SOX by any other name ... | Am I the only environmental engineer annoyed that the Sarbanes-Oxley crowd usurped our acronym? SOX are sulfur dioxides. They've been sulfur dioxides for decades. A Google search on SOX is pretty clear. Don't get me wrong - I have no problem with the Sarbanes-Oxley act although some claim it's rather burdensome. I'm mad at the SEC and the bean counters of the world because they can't find their own acronym. Doesn't it tell you something about how they think of the environment or should I say don't think about the environment? Didn't they know that SOX belongs to us environmental folks? No! That's my point. by Doug Hatler, CHMM DHatler@enviance.com | | |
