They’ve been on the list for the last four years running and they don’t seem to be losing speed any time soon. Their meticulous attention to corporate social responsibility conveys well what the 100 Best Corporate Citizens list is about. The best-managed firms today -- in this era when societal expectations of business are rising -- can no longer focus solely on stockholder return. Companies that aim to prosper over the long term also emphasize good jobs for employees, environmental sustainability, healthy community relations, and great products for customers.
The company is Green Mountain Coffee of Waterbury, Vermont. Since its founding in 1981, the company has been socially and environmentally active.
When I take a look at the top 10 short listed here, I'm surprised to see the number of techology companies. Interesting.
