Bush Endorses Nuclear Power to Reduce Greenhouse Gas

When asked about greenhouse gas emissions, President Bush answered with nuclear power

You saw it coming, but it still registers as a shock when you first read it in print. President Bush is now pushing nuclear energy as the end-all, be-all way to reduce greenhouse gases and global warming.  


Never mind the costs to build and maintain nuclear power plants, the safety measures involved, the terrorist risk of shipping and storing nuclear waste – and last, but certainly not least, where to store the waste (read more here).  I guess Bush had to say something “environmental” when asked about Al Gore’s movie, “An Inconvenient Truth”.  Too bad it wasn’t the right thing.
