| July 21, 2006 | | Air, water, waste, and soil erosion clean up efforts get major funding in China | China announced an unprecedented investment in their environment last week. $175 billion dollars will be spent on clean air initiatives, water pollution, waste disposal, and soil erosion efforts.
As Treehugger points out, this effort is to be applauded, but the sustainability factor is still in question. In the end, you can’t just throw money at problems, but countries around the world need to focus on behaviors, especially those belonging to big businesses.
