Auto Industry Must Cut Greenhouse Gas Emissions

EU gives warning to auto industry to reduce greenhouse gas emissions

In light of the European Union’s warnings, the European and Asian auto industries must cut CO2 emissions from new cars by 3% every year to meet the European target of 25% by 2008 and 2009 for Asian manufacturers. 

According to Guenter Verheugen, the EU Industry Commissioner, “The situation is not satisfactory.  We expect that the industry stick to its commitments”.
