        <Description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif"&gt;The &lt;strong&gt;American Honda Motor Company&lt;/strong&gt;, in a surprise move last week, called on the federal government to create a special carbon credit program &lt;span style="text-decoration: underline;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;a href="http://insidegreenbusiness.com/index.php/igb/show/honda_breaks_with_auto_industry_by_calling_for_emissions_trading_program/"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/a&gt;for automobile emissions to combat climate change.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif"&gt;The company's proposal &lt;a href="http://insidegreenbusiness.com/index.php/igb/show/504"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/a&gt;is the &amp;ldquo;lone wolf&amp;rdquo; stand &lt;strong&gt;against greenhouse gas emissions&lt;/strong&gt; for the auto industry.&amp;nbsp; It is directly at odds with the &lt;strong&gt;Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers&lt;/strong&gt; &amp;ndash; a group who&amp;rsquo;s trying to &lt;strong&gt;block &lt;/strong&gt;consideration of &lt;strong&gt;climate change policies&lt;/strong&gt; by an Environmental Protection Agency advisory committee reviewing overall air quality programs.&amp;nbsp; Alliance members include &lt;strong&gt;Ford, DaimlerChrysler, BMW, GM, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Volkswagen, Mazda, and Porsche&lt;/strong&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Honda is not a member of the alliance.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;font size="2" face="verdana,arial,helvetica,sans-serif"&gt;According to a recent statement by Honda, &amp;ldquo;Honda firmly believes that climate change needs to be addressed at the &lt;strong&gt;federal level&lt;/strong&gt;.
