12 major companies join USCAP to combat Climate Change

Breaking news from <a title="Business Coalition for Climate Action Doubles" href="http://www.environmentaldefense.org/article.cfm?contentID=5828" target="_blank">Environmental Defense</a>:  12 major companies including General Motors, Shell, and AIG joined the <a title="Environmental Defense Article on USCAP" href="http://www.environmentaldefense.org/article.cfm?contentID=5828" target="_blank">U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP) to combat climate change</a>.  The addition of General Motors is seen by many observers as particularly significant, because trucks and automobiles account for roughly 20% of all U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. As part of this announcement, these companies pledge to support national legislation to reduce America's global warming pollution by 60-80% by 2050. With today's additions, the number of companies in USCAP more than doubles to 22.
