Last Friday, President Bush announced his plan to conduct <a title="Bush calls meeting on global warming" href="http://www.reuters.com/article/environmentNews/idUSWBT00734620070804" target="_blank">global warming talks in Washington next month</a>.  The United States has been billed as world's top emitter of GHG, and back in May Bush pledged to participate in talks with the other top emitters.  Earlier this year he also promised to make "substantial" reductions in GHG emissions - as the Kyoto Protocol aims to do.The talks are scheduled for September 27-28, 2007, directly three days after the U.N.'s summit on climate change in New York, with the Bush administration controlling the agenda.Countries invited to Bush's climate change meeting include: China, India, Japan, Canada, Brazil, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Australia, Indonesia, and South Africa.  The European Union will include representatives from France, Germany, Italy, and Britain.A step in the right direction?  Let me know what you think!By Cassandra Darwin<a href="mailto:cdarwin@enviance.com">cdarwin@enviance.com</a> 9 application/xml false Bush climate change GHG Bush calls meeting on global warming President George W.
